Orchid's Ballad

A cool, crisp breeze rippled through the thick lush grass. The sun was bright and warm, thick white clouds floated carelessly adding to the day's beauty. In the lush grass small groups of various flowers spotted the seemingly endless field. It looked like a perfect day, the peace that settled over this lush piece of land was calming. The fresh scent of sweet grass and the pure breeze that mixed with it dulled the sense slightly,pulling you in slowly making you drop your guard just a little bit.


Walking on the lush jade grass, leaving imprints of her black shoes that came up a little above her ankle and a littler below her shin. Tantalising orbs of blue looked out onto a sea of green. Ino Yamanaka stood in her spot and waited, she knew what this field was for. Her long blonde hair was down as she gathered it up to put it in it's usual ponytail, a bang covering her left eye. A purple skirt wrapped around Ino's small waist and fell just above her knees, the wind blew gently and showed that underneath were fishnets. Her purple top hugged her heavily developing breast and it came above her stomach showing off her toned cream coloured stomach. Putting her hand on her hip that held her tan medical/weapons pouch, she slipped her hand inside and took a quick inventory before nodding and walking deeper into the field.



It had been sometime since Ino had anytime to herself. She was always at the shop or on a mission, or even in the hospital learning something from that forehead girl Sakura. A picture of sakura flashed into Ino's head and she smiled, that cherry blossom coloured hair and those unique green eyes. The image of Sakura made Ino think of the younger days, and the things the two had been through. Shaking her head Ino found herself still in the infinite fields of grass, she began to stretch waiting for some one to come along.

As Souru entered the field he took note of all the nice features it held. It was an excellent field and things like this often did make Souru relax, however he was an anti-social person, and as he looked around the field he noticed he wasn't alone. All of these nice, beautiful things were ruined by the presence of another, and he found himself quiet and drawn-in, his guard very much up.

He stood up and bowed, white, robe like, clothes swaying gently in the breeze. He looked at the field again and noticed the circular motion it took, and the way it was neatly kept. It was a sparring field he assumed. Seeing as there was someone there, he guessed what was to happen. Not being rude he quickly asked the name of his opponent. What is the name of my opponent? I am Idō Souru.

A small gust of wind brushed Ino's thick blond bang from her face slightly, showing both of her orbs of blue opal as they look directly at Ido Sourum. She was already facing him and bowed in return before looking back at him, A small flicker of fire in her eyes. She knew it would only be polite to respond back and shuffled her feet a bit putting her hands on her hip where her medical/weapon tan pouch sat. Licking her lips she smiled lightly and blinked once opening her mouth she spoke, In a calm slightly flirty manner.

" Ino Yamanaka. Chunin kunoichi from Konoha. I am your opponent, I know your ready and so am I."

Ino's mind began to go into over drive as she began to plot and plan. Stretching a bit more she put her hands over her head and then cartwheeled about two feet to the left, as she did this in mid cartwheeling she pulled out two kunia from her tan pouch. Landing she smirked, feeling a bit too confident in herself. Jumping back so the two had a bit of distance between themselves , Ino called out her voice clear and calm.

Souru listened to his opponent. She wasn't an unattractive woman at all. She was chuunin, a rank above him, but he didn't think that mattered at all really. He watched as she did a cartwheel to the left pulling two kunai out mid cartwheel. In Souru's eyes the battle had already started the moment she gave him her name. She jumped back to put alittle more distance between them it seemed.

The moment she jumped back, Souru had acted. She landed on the ground, after having jumped back, just as Souru had body flickered right in front of her. He was ducked low, sending a combination of open palmed thrusts, left-right-left-right, to her calf and thighs.

As Ino landed she felt a barrage of quick thrust to her calves and thighs. With each thrust she felt her legs numb and cramp up making it difficult for her to move. She wanted to kick him in the face across the field but decided against it quickly. making a few hand seals that led up to her hand forming a circle right above Ido's head Ino muttered " Mind body disturbance technique." The two kunia were still in her hand while she held the circle there putting her chakra into his nervous system and then taking a few steps back slowly gritting her teeth. She was sure she had gotten him and if that was not the case she would throw a kunia at him and flicker next to him slashing her other kunia across his face, not killing him but drawing blood.


Jutus used :Mind Body Disturbance Technique;
A ninjutsu where one sends their chakra into the subject's nervous system, thus operating the enemies body at will. The enemies this technique is cast upon are completely under control, their bodies disconnected from their will, their movements stolen from them. The difference between this, and the Mind Body Switch Technique is, the caster is able to retain their consciousness. Thanks to this, one can mind the safety of their own body even during the course of the techniques activation. Situations of numerical superiority for the adversary are precisely where this technique, which freely manipulates human beings will display its efficiency, by getting the enemies to kill one another. Control can be exerted even from a distance. This technique is arguably the most suitable to confuse the enemy.

As Ino started to form a few handsigns Souru quickly reacted. As a common avoidance maneuver from a straight forward attack he rolled to the right, just barely escaping the technique, though he had no idea he had avoided something more deadly than a physical attack of any kind.. As he stood up he even felt the slight urge to take a few steps backwards, just as his opponent had just done, but the urge quickly went away as he cleared his mind. He smiled alittle and nodded, as he quickly grasped the concept of what the jutsu was capable of doing. I almost didn't make it out of that one. Thats a handy jutsu.

However his reply was a kunai flying at him. He ducked under the kunai, the slight hiss of it parting the wind as it flew over him. He looked over to Ino to see her just disappearing, probably a flicker. A second later he found he was right. Souru had gotten lucky in deciding to duck, rather than sidestep. Because he was ducked the slash that would have struck his face, had he remained standing, struck nothing but air. Ino's hand continued to move in a downward motion after having struck the air, with no solid object to stop or slow the movement.

Souru rose from his ducked position. He would attempt to send a open handed thrust to her downward moving arm that would force it sideways across her body, interrupting her balance and preventing her other arm from making an balanced counter-strike at him. If this worked it would also leave the side of her ribs exposed,as well as her hip, in which case he would continue to send a multitude of open palmed strikes to these areas.
